Meet Mike: Your Credit Insider

I've spent 30 years in the car business, starting in 1997 when subprime lending was the wild west. For my first 10 years, I specialized in something most dealers avoided - helping people with damaged credit get approved for car loans.

I'm talking about really challenged credit - scores in the 400s, fresh bankruptcies, repossessions, you name it. While others saw problems, I saw people who needed transportation and a second chance. I became the guy who could get the "impossible" deals done.

Learning the Hard Way

Nobody taught me about credit growing up. I learned everything through thousands of real deals, watching what worked and what didn't. That real-world education became my mission - to teach others what I had to learn the hard way.

Beyond the Numbers

I didn't just get people approved - I taught them how to rebuild. Using tools like credit simulators (which inspired this site), I showed customers exactly how their decisions would impact their scores. Many came back years later with prime credit.

My Journey Through the Industry

1997-2007: Subprime Finance Specialist - Mastered the art of matching customers with the right lenders, understanding LTV requirements, and structuring deals that worked for everyone.
2008-2020: Finance Director - When the mortgage crisis hit, I adapted to conventional lending while never forgetting the lessons from subprime. Managed multiple locations and trained dozens of finance managers.
2020-Present: Sales Manager - Post-COVID, I've seen new challenges emerge. Now I'm taking three decades of experience online to help more people understand credit from an insider's perspective.
